Saving...
January 19, 1945 Trinidad Dear Dad & Mom: It's raining pitchforks & hammer handles outside now, cant see fifty feet outside the barracks. Only rained a couple of times before during the day so it's been comparatively dry as this weather goes. No mail today for some reason or other, there were newspapers but no first class mail. Had a letter from Uncle Raymond last night for we had two mail calls. We were told today that we could write we were on Trinidad. Dont know why we couldnt before but there are lots of things go on that are too deep for me so I surely wont worry about it. I've had a lot of time on my hands the last few days, havent done a thing but wait to see what they want us to do. Hate just waiting around wish I could spend my time someplace more to my liking, Iowa for instance. Went to a non com's club last night and had all the coke I could drink and a couple of ham & egg sandwiches which were delicious. The field is well built up
