The boat trip was quite pleasant [tho?] a couple of days the water [got crooked?] and I felt a bit woozey. It was a much nicer boat than I had going over and the food and drinks were better. Saw more candy, cigarettes, etc. on the boat than I did during my entire stay in Italy. It's quite warm down here, rains every hour on the hour and then the sun comes out the jungle steams like a tea kettle. [Home?] had bananas right off the [bush?] and this morning I noticed a [native?] with a bunch of nice looking pineapples. It rains sixty inches between June + January so I'm afraid I really [illegible] the rainy season. I have enough paints under the present eighty fine paint set up for a discharge but don't expect to get [ane] for me are told that if your're stuck with a job considered essential it's no go. Our [illegible] received seven bottle participation stars which helped my total.
