This time Teusday we had a grand review. Where General Mcellelen was here and old Abe. Abes wife it was a grand sight to see. There was 6 regments of cavalry and Arty and Infrity to neumerous to mention but the infitry is pretty nere cleaned out this side of the river. There was 12000 went yesterday. Night before last the Stuarts grays went off in the night. I have been down and seen Charley 2 times since we have been here. I went down the day before they went over the river and he said that they thought that they should winter there but that night they went off so sudden that no one new till morning that they had gone. I got a letter from John Stoll night before last. He said that he had wrote to Alonzo but had received no answer. I want you to send me the directions to Alonzo and dont forget It for I have wrote to him 3 times but have received no answer. John said that they had been in to Kentucky and staid 4 day but they had moved up the ohio
