Camp California Va Feb 4 1862 Dear father and mother I take these few lesure moments to answer your letter of the 27, which I received to night it found us well I hope these few lines will find you the same I was glad to here from you but it did not say anything about the money I sent but I guest that the letter I sent had not got through. I and Lafo sent $55.00 the 26, but I shant worry till we have time to get a letter from there. Lewis and I was on guard till noon. The Boys are all here now. They are setting around the stove some reading and some writeing
