was a good night to here such good News the moon shone bright and it was as warm as spring. The first we heard of it was cheer after cheer went up and froated through the cool evening air. As camp after camp contued up it passed through camp after camp till it came to ours and then we gave them some harty old cheers. The bands played all night most all is excitement here now. To day we got the New that Fort Danelson is taken and our flag froats over it again. We fired 12 rounds and gave some hearty cheers, and while I am writeing they are cheering and fireing guns. Fort Donelson is taken and 15000, prisoners taken, old Floyed, Jhonston, Pillows and Buckner, and they have got old Beauguard
