Night found us tired and hungry and in posesion of Sharpsburg Heights But we had gained the day but a great many of our comrads were no more. Our Gen. Richardson was wounded and Meagher of the irish brigade an Sedswick of the first Division of our Corps Our Division bore the hardest fighting of the day. The Irish Brigade only drew rations for 500 men yestday morning. There was 4 regiments when they went in Now there is only about 106 men in
