they had there would not have been a 
man left to tell the tale for they took 
a rebel prisoner he toll them that when 
their men saw the green flag coming 
over the hill that they had 5 lines of 
battle formed to receive them if they 
charged. If the Brigade had charged they 
would have probly have broken the darn 
first lines but would not the next for the rebs were in a mass, so it would 
have been impossibel, our cannon 
done the thing so the Irish Brigade did not have to make a charge tonight.  We lay on our arms, the 19, we lay on the field our rations were brought to us 2 days, there was some picket firing all day the balls flew pretty close some times but none of our boys were hurt that day.
