Why dident the government furnish McClellen with transport so he could reinforce Pope in time. They are the ones that are to blame. When we evacuated Harrisons Landing we came to Fortress Monroe and had to lay there 9 days before the transports came so we could reinforce Pope and again Why dident the government at Washington let McDowell cooperate with McClellen on the Peninsula an we should have never had to fell back from richmond but the government order the bridges burnt and so all communications were cut betwixt us and McDowell. This was against McClellens orders. Jackson had no one to contest with then so he made a force march and joined Jonston on our right
