Thursday morning April 30 camp nere [sic. near] United States Ford Dear father I have just receive your letter of the 17 a few minutes ago. It found me well. I hope this may find you the same father. We are again on the march and enjoying the excitement of a campaign if there be any. We have been on the march 2 days now. It has rained pretty much all the time but is a very warm rain so we like it a great deal better than laying in camp. It is raineing [sic. raining] here now. We expect to brake camp now in about 1 hour. The report is the rebs are falling back if they do not why we shall have quite a little brush here at the ford a crossing
