camp Reserve Artillery June 6th Dear Father as I have a few leisure moments I will improve them. I received your letter of May 23th in due time it found me well an enjoying good health. We are still in the camp where I wrote to you last but don't know when we may move. Our force threw a bridge across the river yestday [sic. yesterday] afternoon nere [sic. near] where Franklin crossed last fall and crossed the river and drove the rebs out of there rifel [sic. rifle] pitts [sic. pits].
