Camp Reserve June 11th 1863 Dear father as I have a few lesure [sic. leisure] moments I will improve them in writing to you. I am well and hope this may find you the same. I received a letter from Alonzo night before last. He is sick and in the Regimental Hospital. He had been sick tow [sic. two] weeks when he wrote to me with the Chronic diahrea [sic. diarrhea]. He thought he was getting some better he said he had first rate care, as good as he could ask for. I should not have written so soon but Alonzo said he had received a letter from you the same night he did mine and said he would not be
