Twenty-Seven March 6, 1918. My dear-dear Wife, - Four letters to-day! Two were from you, one was from Jack Newman, and the other was from M. Coulon enclosing the letter you sent in his care. In consequence I have the feeling tonight that the line of communication is at last working so that I may expect to hear from you with some regularity. Now I shall quit grousing about the mail service. I'm going to change the plan I had formed of answering tonight one of the three letters I had laid aside for answering and write instead about these two new ones. They are of earlier dates anyway, and so wawfully nice that my head is full of them. One is the letter of January 10 telling all about your birthday announcement dinner.
