And tonight, instead of going, down to hear him talk, I am going to make our Mother a ripping good salad & broil her a steak. She's not at all well and has been poorly all winter. I want to fatten her up a bit if I can. I have a pupil who's parents are near-farmers, that is, they keep a cow, a pig, a hen, a bee, and a garden. I am getting fresh cream & eggs from them for Mama, and she is beginning to improve. I've fed her Sherry as an appetizer, and it's doing it's work. Everything is so green and nice, but ooh! It's cold again. Such funny weather. It makes me sleepy all the time, and this business of getting up an hour earlier doesn't help any. Lest I forget - I have added two new ones to my correspondence list, beside "Morton C" Mumma I now hear from Col. R. H. Van Deman and little Henry J. Hunt, who claims to be a "Capt. Inf. U. S. N. A." woof! woof! Aren't you very jealous?
