2 Perhaps, at 27, I can even say that I have reached the age of good sense. In the light of some of the steps I took in the year just preceding I think I may even be so bold as to boast that I have already demonstrated my capacity to enter into this estate. What a whirling, eventful year it was! I wonder if the next will equal it. Surely it will, because life will grow richer and better because of the new meaning it took with the development of the most important event of the year just gone. At 26 I had only myself; at 27 I have you, and love. The progress is simply immeasurable in its wealth of meaning. Arriving home at 11 o'clock last night from a two-day trip to the front I found five letters from you. I mos' lost my breath in pleasure. They are furnishing the best part of my fun today. I'm stringing out the delight of opening them. Last night I read the one of February 1, that contained the pictures. So far today I have
