Thirty-eight. March 25, 1918 Dearest, - Good afternoon! Or perhaps I should say 'mornin, because you have probably just had breakfast. I'm loafing again today; that is, I'm having nothing to do except at three one-hour periods. Consequently I have loads of time. The only exciting topics in our town today are the big battle and the bombardment of Paris from a distance of 70 miles. Everybody refused at first to believe that there was sich an animal as a gun that would shoot seventy miles. By this time, however, it has been practically proved that the Huns have such a gun.
