It was well for you that you sang "Goodbye, Boys" - because you are a minus quantity now. Do you grasp the situation? Dearest, I want you so much! All this is mere bunk and you know it. There was no need for the singing of your Requim on your wedding morning because your wife is not the kind to feel neglected because her husband is still "one of the boys". Quite on the contrary, I assure you. I swear I'll never be used to being Mrs. Reynolds. Some days it seems quite natural and I never think of it as being new and strange, and then comes the reaction! Whole days where I cannot realize any of what has happened, when I sit around with my face on fire, unable to think or act like an individual of ordinary intelligence & balance.
