Regardless of the fact that I was hardly able to stand up all day, I had to play & lead them, "in order to put lots of pep into the girls", as old Dean Cramer said. I certainly had lots of pep. I wished for old Mr. Glickflap to mix me a toddy, but in the words of Vincent Heiserer, "Nottin' doink"! Well we just were nicely started when some grinning ape yells for "Sammy Barkers." Nothing would do but they must sing all the songs. By this time the whole school knows them so it did sound fine, even tho it was blowing my own horn.
