[10-30-42] Thur nite U.S. Army Fort George G. Meade, MD Dearest. We are moving again tonight it is a real confusion worse than it has ever been (mail address is the same) all the pounding fixing beds, talking cussing, and milling around there only two of us left Bunce & I he sleeps above my bunk weve pulled a little deal to get it that way if he & I get split up I will be alone and so will he we may be getting near settled we are assigned to a squad now. We were working with rifles today we go out tomorrow for some time dont know how long I will write as soon as we get back Got 3 letters two from you and one from Geo. yours' were two good letters the one you wrote on your birthday all the things you put in your letter was good. I think
