U.S. Army Fort George G. Meade, MD. [11-16-42] Sun afternoon Dearest. I wrote a hasty note yesterday so a fellow could take it to be mailed I wanted you to know soon as possible about the fourloughs. I got two letters today none yesterday I will let you know when I leave here so you will know. I don't like surprises they are no good If I can tell when I will get to Chicago I will let you know. If you want to come it will be fine I would like it very much, I may not have enough time to tell you. some things happen quick here. They don't even deliver telegrams here I have a lot to tell about this place when I get home I did some washing today and stayed in bed almost all forenoon most everyone did it was cold all morning It is better now I want to go out and buy a few things pretty soon and then
