U.S. Army Fort George G. Meade, MD. [12-14-42] Sunday PM Dearest. It is colder today a very high wind is blowing a regular sand storm It is cold in the barracks we didn't get up till noon stayed in bed to keep warm the fireman is drunk as usual and not much heat here Got two letters today they finally get around to getting them delivered Things are sure dead around here I should do a little sewing on some buttons Bunce was down to the P.X. got some candy There is nothing to write about this is a short letter but I still love my wife Love Lloyd (Smiley Face)
