U.S. Army Fort George G. Meade, MD. Sat. nite Dearest: - We just came back from the main post guard I like it over there everything is clean and pleasant even the prison is clean well lighted and painted in light colors, we walk post 2 hours and off 4 sleep don't amount to much we go from about 4 oclock PM to 7 oclock AM During the day we work prisoners they only gave me one he must have been a bad one I took him about 3 mines to the hospital for examination I had to stay with him all the time they have the best equipment at the main hospital, better X Ray that Eskin everything new and up to date I missed an overnite camp by being on guard Got a little [dope?] on a discharge I have to have proof of a job in a war plant so I wrote [Croger?] a letter. next I have to write a letter to the company commander telling I want to get out [12-22-42]
