Sat. Jan 9, 43 Dearest, Didn't get to write last nite was pretty busy it was cold as could be in the barracks there is rummor we will be shipped out in a few days I think we will go pretty soon I have no idea which way We got off at noon today Most of the boys are gone out someplace it is warm in the barracks. Bunce is staying around too We are going to wash some clothes after a while. seems good to rest after a weeks work. I hear some of the older men in other companies are getting their discharge there will be a little hope for me maybe I would like to get home to my sweetheart this army is
