Continental Hotel Centerville, Iowa October 16, 1941 Dear Lloyd, You already know where "they" decided to place me. The gossips knew even if the powers that be forgot to tell me. When I got to Des Moines all they did was tell me to go on to Centerville, and the supervisor would follow later. I did and she did. And there was no need for me to take such a long route to get to Centerville! Government efficiency? How is the Supt. of Crushing doing on the moving operations? Any more twisted frames etc.? I'm taking Miss Wilson's place. She used to be the Relief Director at Iowa City and I knew her there. It is fortunate I have someone like her to get me started here. She'll stay until next Thursday or Friday. I noticed two funny names on the way down, one was Button but I can't remember the other one. There is a Miss Brain in the Relief
