Saving...
talked to me at the Saturday luncheon. The war implications for each citizen are things we have no real idea of. She was no alarmist, but gave definite statements of the ways our consumption of various things would have to be different in the coming months. I met Ardy's roommate Phoebe. She certainly seems nice. A common sort, not fancy or dumb. Wish Ardy could have been there. I saw several people at Ames that I used to know but hadn't seen for a year or more. Letters seem to be the only help in being, I mean while, we are away. One before Thanksgiving will make that day better. Since I can't go to CR maybe I'll work that day and save it as extra time at Christmas or New Years. Someday maybe I'll be able to get some home as good as War War. Love, Laura
