They are too lengthy to write but your reactions were always a help when I discussed stuff. I do believe Appanoose County has as much variety in situations its citizens manage to get into of any place I know about. It was big news to hear that your mother was home. She must not get too spry until things are all grown together again. (She wouldn't know that!) So tell her my orders from Dr Hutchison to the patient--"John" doesn't count! I did not suppose she would be home so soon. The grease got on the edges by getting too close to my plate. You see I'm writing this again at the Stevens. The girl is swamped by 8 orders, so I'm patiently waiting to get my coffee. The clock is just striking seven. In fact, I'm in [underlined] our [/underlined] corner booth. It was too late to buy groceries so I really didn't have stuff to cook. I take it you got some one besides Edna to help your mother. Whomever you have, they will be a lot easier to manage if your mother is at home to oversee what is going on and needs tending.
