305 West Washington Centerville, Iowa November 28, 1941 Dearest, The clock says 9:10, I just got back from Des Moines and I suppose you are in line for the first throw in the first game tonight. Mrs. Newman had better not be threatening to spank you! The orals were not so hard today. I think written part of this exam was harder than the August exam but this oral easier than the last. Things get squared up in the end, I guess. If "our" baby is talking on the phone when so young we will have [inserted carrot] to be a watching or she will be all grown up before we know it. A good baby, even if she is ours. I've just shaken up the snow man so there is a big storm on my desk. It is quieting down, though. It is still warm weather, but I believe it is getting damper and cooler tonight. The weather was perfect for my trip today. I didn't ask the landlady or anyone to go with me today as I was not sure when I'd leave or return. I like to have company, especially on
