population here probably accounts for part of the lack of display and the people don't seem to register that every detail of their separate lives will be affected. You can notice the attitude here in contrast to the people of CR and D.M. Today they got excited about the Burlington unit explosion. It is more close to home and many local people work there. Haven't seen a news story on it yet. The receptionist's brother works in that unit but she called him long distance and found he did not go to work at all today. He said it was industrial accident only. Do you recall that last winter shortly after your father went to the hospital you said to me one night that we would be in war in a year? I guess we were discussing the draft law and your military service possibilities. I didn't go to Ottumwa this PM as planned because Miss Munro sent a telegram that the meeting was cancelled.
