Sun nite Aug 10 1942 Dearest: War War Got here at 6 oclock should got here about 2 oclock train from Cinn. was 4 hours late had a short waite at Chicago had air conditioned car all the way this time had a lot of talks with good people rode a long way on this end with a fellow who lives 60 miles from camp he asked me up on a week end talked to a lot of soldiers being sent to other camp the passes are all hard to get I looked over town before I came out to camp it is a poor town lazy & dirty got a punk meal was hungry too Hated to come down here
