Saving...
To Mrs. Lloyd Davis 817 19th St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa U.S.A From Maurice Hutchison S 1/2 (Sender's name) Co.B-5 26th U.S.N. (Sender's Address) Const. Batt. Fleet P.O. San Francisco June 11, 1943 (Date) Dear Frances, It really doesn't seem like this year is almost half gone. For the most part, time goes quite rapidly although there is only one season out here. Have received your letters in good time. It appears you are plenty busy. What do you hear from Lloyd? Can he write anything definite about his location or work? I know he will stand his work better than most fellow. Given an even break, he should do very well. Is George still at home? I don't recall what his work is. I'm still working in the galley as cook's striker. Hope to get cook's rating soon. Of course the job is repetitious. Most jobs are. However, I like it quite well. The customers complain, but they come back three times a day. Guess we sort of have the edge on them out here. We hear that the Seabees are given plenty of publicity by the Navy. Hope you are O.K. and that the news from Lloyd is good. For me, I haven't missed a day's work yet. Should arrange things a little about the tent. It's about chow time and I must get to work soon. Write a line when you can get the time. Love Maurice Maurice Hutchison
