Saving...
came in here today are just as pokey and irresponsible as the one I described to you the other day. I don't see how mothers trust their infants to such unreliable souls. Maybe that is a handicap your rebels have suffered under that you didn't consider! The one who did our laundry though was fine. There certainly is a lot of activity to be seen from this window. I never in my whole life was as lazy and useless and extravagant as I have been living here at this Hotel. I serve no useful purpose. But the joy of being near you and waiting and hoping you'll come to me soon is wonderful. I still have circles under my eyes in spite of all the extra rest. Of course the trip down was hard, but it is a good thing I haven't had to work during this time. I needed some resting and I couldn't get a chance at home. And if I had the chance there I would be so unhappy and restless trying to do nothing when all I could think of was how much I wished I could see you and how unsatisfactory a place our house is without Mother. When I go home now of course my biggest concern will be to see where you go. But I'll have to mark time before you can tell me that but I'll be so busy trying to catch up on my work at the office and getting the house ready for winter that the time before the news comes will go faster than otherwise.
