Saving...
Dearest, Just finished mowing the lawn, the first time this year. It was a little long in the back yard but it has been wet the last half of the week so I could not do it before today. And even today the grass between __ and Lunds, and the front yard grass, was so short it scarcely needed anything. But I mowed over all of it anyway. I suppose I should schedule mowing as the Saturday afternoon exercise for me until you are home. How oftener it will need it will depend on the weather. After work this noon, it being Saturday, I went home until time to go to Mr. Engle's funeral. From there I went to Rosemont __ to get two of those cemetery vases you wanted me to get. They are not made any more, so I had a big hunt before I found any in old stock. The ones I got are real heavy, made of galvanized stuff in a galvanized container instead of a tile. You would approve of the workmanship I think. I got the notice yesterday the foot stone was being shipped, so we'll have everything in place like you would like it before either Mothers' or Memorial Day. The little trees are doing __ too. I'm not planning anything much for the rest of this evening. I have some housework to do if I get ambitious. But I think all I probably will do is be in the place you fixed. I hope you are getting mail now. And that you'll be where you can send some to me. I love my husband. Goodnight, Laura
