Pvt. Lloyd Davis 37420240 Co. C-9th Bn-1st Repl. Depot A.P.O. 761 c/o Postmaster New York, New York Mrs. Earl McIlvain 645 2nd Ave, S.E. Cedar Rapids, IA. June 6, 1943 Dear Lloyd, I try & try to get Earl to write to you but you know how it is to get these fellows to write letters. He thinks of you often even if he doesn't write. We were out to Steeles with Laura one night this week. They are the same as always. Suppose Laura has told you Otis is home now. Thursday nite Earl and I were out to Petrak's. Irene seems to be feeling pretty good now. They are having Lynettes & Doris' tonsils out this week. Marlene is taking accordion lessons. Things never seem to be dull over there. This is Sunday and Earl is working. To-nite Laura asked us to come over and eat supper with her. She has a bit of government work to do so we told her we'd be there. We're anxious to hear from you again and hope everything is going okay. We're holding the fort on the home front. Sincerely, Hazel
