38. Conocephalus Conicus. Pl. X. On a hillside facing the north and at the foot of which flows the river, a large bed of Conocephalus conicus has formed, and there its broad shining fronds covering the earth like a plaited carpet are always to be seen, With the first warm rays the small cone like fruit caps make their appearance above the edges and at the apical notches of the fronds.
