The residue is then heated with alcohol which dissolves the hydrochlorides of hydroxylamine, leaving the sal-ammoniae undissolved. Platinum chloride is now added to free the solution from sal-ammoniae, -- the precipitate is filtered off and the filtrate is evaporated to dryness.
