7 Our definite knowledge of the form of derivation is confined to starch and cellulose. Starch which makes its appearance in chlorophyll corpuscles is formed from protoplasm, the molecules of protoplasm under going dissociation and starch becoming a conspicuous product of the process. Authorities say that cellulose is found this way and it may also be inferred that all reserve carbo-hydrates are produced in the same manner. The second of these secretions are the Waste Products.
