This is about the only place for error as it is also in the Ethylamine + Trimethylamine method. The results are very good. 2. Ferrous Sulphide method. (12) (a) From tartaric acid solution. To the solution of [??] add sufficient tartaric acid to prevent the precipitation of the iron or aluminium before the addition of ammonia. Add an excess od ammonium sulphide, allow the precipitate to settle, and then filter. Wash first with water containing a little ammonium sulphide and then cold water. Dissolve the precipitate in dilute hydrochloric acid and reprecipitate with ammonia. To the Filtrate ad sodium phosphate and then hydrochloric acid so that there will be about [?] more than is required to decompose the ammonium sulphide. Add 3 - 5 grams of sodium
