27. -sembles in many respects. It seems to be more gregarious in its mode of growth than sespitose. It has a dirty green appearance and is very common, growing on the ground and shaded banks, or at the roots of trees. The slender stems are produced from sub-terranean [slotons?], erect woody and bearing creeping lash-like and bow-shaped branches. The leaves are arranged spirally around the stem.
