34. deltoid, cordate, accuminate, dentate-cordate above, all concave, apex erect. Costa pellucid vanishishing [vanishing?] above the middle; areolation nearly round, minute; paraphillia numerous multiform, inner perichaetial leaves long-lanceolate. Capsule short necked, turgid oval-oblong, narrowed or nearly horizontal with a broad orifice. Operculum short conical or mammiform. Segments separated by their long cilias. Habitat: Found on decayed logs in the woods, in moist or wet places usually. Variable according to the locality in which it is found.
