Get in such a position that this image is near the center of the horizon and as near as possible to it so that a slight motion will not throw it out of the basin. In taking the circum-windian attitudes of stars it is usual to take a certain number of observations, usually 6 or 7, before and after windian panage. Be sure to begin work on a star soon enough to permit this. Point the telescope at the image in the horizon as the direct image and bring down the reflected image by moving the index arm forward.
