[page][?][/page] Virginus (Spica). Below this and on the right hand side we have the right ascension and declination as taken from the Nautical Almanac, the clock correction [inserted]([?delta?] t)[/inserted] and index correction [inserted](I)[/inserted] which are filled in afterward. Next is a blank space occupying the greater part of the sheet in which the number, names, angular readings and notes of the individual observations are recorded. The first is recorded in this manner:- No. 1 Time 13h 9m 41s, Reading (double altitude) 75° 23' 50", Note --. The others are similar. Observations are rejected when it is plainly apparent that they are in error. For instance is we had observations running along in this manner 75° 20' 35", 75° 21' 10", 75° 22' 5", 75° 26' 15", 75° 23' 16", 75° 24' 10" we would reject the observation 75° 26' 15"
