[page][illegible[/page] (which might be omitted if we used only one sheet), Am, Bn, h[subscript]0[/subscript] = h + Am - Bn, v, Probable error, etc. Under Am and Bn we have the sub-heads Logarithm and Number. Under the head "Probable Error, etc." we have the values of A and B, the sums of the + and - residuals, the values of (n) and ([μ?]) (quantities used in finding the probable error of any value of h[subscript]0[/subscript] and of the mean). Along the lower margin of this space we have the name of the star and date of observation repeated. Let us begin the work of reduction. First, write in the column headed No. as many numbers, in order, as there are observations, including those marked "Reject". Next write in order in the second column the observed times as recorded on the first or observation blank and in the fourth column the observed double altitudes.
