When all of the logarithms of (Am) and (Bn) have been found look up the corresponding numbers and write them in the proper places. It will be observed that these numbers occur in regular order as to magnitude running 129, 62, 2, 3, 13, 26, 55, 79, 142 and 195 for instance. Often mistakes may be detected by remembering this fact. If the number 20 occurred between 3 and 13 we should know that something was wrong. In looking up the numbers Bn from the logarithms the reader should remember that it is useless to look up those having a characteristic less than 8 because numbers smaller than hundredths are not taken into account.
