[page][illegible][/page] is called (a), of y'(b), and of [z?]'(c) while the absolute time is known as (n). Add a, b, c and n of the first equation and place the sum on the first line of the (s) column. (a + s) is of course equal to the sum of the coefficient of x' and s which has just been found. Similarly we form (b + c), (b + n), etc and record them in their respective places on the first line. After all of these quantities have been formed for the first equation we proceed to the second and find them in exactly the same manner, recording the results on the second line of the blank in the right columns and similarly for the rest. Now take a large sheet of paper and rule on it 15 columns, 14 wide
