Green or blue without markings; head rugose, hairy, labrum white, three toothed, first four joints of antennae green, the remainder dark brown, eyes large, light brown; thorax convex, rugose, hairy, impressions very distinct; elytra obscurely punctured. This is essentially a southern species and its occurence here is doubtful. Length 12 mm. Habitat. Ames, Ia. (Osborn). Georgia, Alabama (Leconte); St. John's Bluff, Fla. (Harris); Texas (Schaupp); Mass (Say); Long Island (Johnson); Northwest Territory (Tyrell). This last is probably an immaculate variety of sexguttata Fab. C. unicolor Dej. Spec. Gen. 1. p. 52. 1825; 5. p. 210. 1831. Lec. Trans. Am. Philos. Soc. Ser. 2. 11. p. 305. 1856.
