delicate little thing she did while she crammed down our good white bread and butter and other rarities was to launch a tirade against officers as a class. She doesn't like us because we don't go round arm in arm with privates. Another subject for much elaborate explanation was the great sacrifice she and Elsie are making to entertain the boys. It is true that Elsie is giving the camps a lot of good fun for nothing but can you imagine she will lose a lot in the end -- after she has gone back and been heralded to the public as "Singing the Songs she Sang to Our Boys in France"? Elsie herself was pretty decent.
