in the numbers they soon will have, we shall not need a long time to defeat the worn Germans. With so little happening in this vicinity I have having a fairly easy time. I have to be within reach of the telephone and ready for any emergency, but I have abundant leisure for reading and chatting with officers who drop in. Perforce, my reading is not of my own choosing, being chiefly in the newspapers and magazines I can buy over here. But anything helps to speed the hours of waiting and bring the day nearer when I can go back to be happy with all of you. By next Saturday it will be six months since I sailed, which is a pretty good sized chunk of the time that the war is going to last - of that I feel sure. I hope this will find you thoroughly enjoying your stay in Cedar Rapids. How I should like to bee there too! With much love, Conger. Conger Reynolds 2nd Lt., A.G.D.
