[picture of calendar] December 1970: East End Neighborhood Group in Little Rock wins a food stamp distribution center for the neighborhood. 1972: ACORN begins organizing against the proposed route of the Wilbur Mills expressed way which would slice through Central Little Rock neighborhoods. 1973: Campaign to block the White Bluff Power Plant gets support from Harvard University, a major stock holder in the parent utility. 1975: The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a multi-syaye organization is formed in Little Rock by ACORN representatives from Arkansass South Dakota and Texas 1976: Texas ACORN wins a reduction in the basic monthly charge for residential telephone service. 1977: ACORN Jobs Action Council leads 200 unemployed workers in a march on City Hall to demand jobs on local public works projects. 1978: 1000 ACORN members attend ACORN's first national convention in Memphis adopt a People's Platform and march with it to the Democratic Party's national mid-term convention.
