Dear Ernie, 

To sum it up: Viewpoints is a series of opinion commentaries by citizens of the Quad-City area, broadcast by WHBF AM and FM. Our objective is to give citizens a platform to express themselves on current issues, and to give that expression the widest circulation we can. Each commentary holds sway for one day and is broadcast five times on both AM and FM. 

A time limits of about a minute-and-a-half is about the only restriction, and even that's a little flexible. Viewpoint commentators choose their subjects and prepare and deliver their pieces on tape here in our FM studio. Local application obviously is good, but that's  not a rule, either. 

I'm spending along, examples of kind of commentaries heard on CBS' Spectrum series. Here, too, is a list of the commentators who have been, are, or will be active. I believe only Tom Kelly and Charles Toney have not yet done any commentary. I'll be expanding this list by several in the next few weeks. 

Our Viewpoints times are, on AM radio: 6:30, 7:30 and 10:30 a.m., and 4:30 and 9:30 p.m. On FM: 6:15, 7:03 and 10:03 a.m., and 5:03 and 10:03 p.m.
