At this time I would like to point out a few facts concerning the national groups that represent the Negro minority in the civil rights groups for the purpose of illustrating the dire need of unity in the pursuit of the interests of an ethnic group. At present there are several distinct groups representing the Negro minority in the civil rights struggle. Each one seems to differ in what tactics to employ to accomplish a common purpose and more recently the youthful faction of these organizations are rejecting the time worn factions of the veteran leadership out of time with the spirited urgency that they are experiencing. Although recently there has been some long established NAACP queue to the changing moods of the negro masses, inspire their people with confidence in their leadership. But it is hard to break with long accepted practices. Not on civil rights organization speakers for all of the Negroes in the U.S. I bring this out not for the purpose of belittling the efforts of the Negro because in view of hatred and discrimination, social oppression, and sometimes brutality, he has had to suffer. I think he deserves a medal for the undying courage and hope he has kept alive in the face of such overwhelming odds.
