-2- Seven members of the local branch of the NAACP were present and marched at the rally which was held in Des Moines on Saturday, July 27, 1963. A report on this will be given at the next meeting! The Mayor has promised that a meeting of the local Human Rights Commission will be held real soon !!! We are waiting!!! EQUAL OPPORTUNITY AND FIRST CLASS CITIZENSHIP... NOW ... NOT SOMEDAY.. DON'T FORGET !!! MEETING FORT MADISON BRANCH of the NAACP RIVER ROOM of the ANTHES HOTEL 7:45 PM AUGUST 2, 1963 FRIDAY Our membership continues to grow... now, lets have more active participation !!! We need all of YOU at this meeting, Friday. It is especially important that the youth members be present but it is equally neccessary for the adults to be there, also, to hear what Mr. Leonard Carter. Field Secretary for Region has to say !
